Vinyard House - or as named by the house mothers, “Zanovuyo” (Bringer of Love) and “Zanokahanyo” (Bringer of Light) in Khayamandi
This wonderful place was the brainchild of Karin Viviers & Florence Ntenyama. There are currently 11 children, between ages 2 and 11 being looked after. These kids are either orphaned, were abandoned or abused and are now being foster cared for by the house mothers, Caroline and Yoliswa, with their assistant Rosi.
We recently visited them to share some birthday cake with them and to give them some toys and blankets. I wish you could all see the look in their eyes when they wrapped themselves in their blankets!!
Should you want to support them in any way, please contact Karin Viviers on +27 (0)833 18 6262 or e-mail her on janviv@icon.co.za or her husband, Jan at jviviers@ens.co.za

We facilitate a rehabilitation process and create an environment where women and children can be protected and recuperate from abuse in their home environment.

Our vision is a vibrant, self-supporting Kylemore community, where human dignity, self-respect, personal contribution, and community esteem are the norm… and growing to encompass the surrounding communities.
Our mission is to offer a holistic way of restoring natural and human communities, thus brightening the outlook of the world we share.
Imbali Western Cape operates primarily in the rural community of Kylemore outside Stellenbosch, working to improve the quality of childhood and enable independent income-earning opportunities for young people and adults.
Based on a belief in the equal importance of the material, social, and spiritual wellbeing of a whole person, the whole family, and the community as a whole, our comprehensive approach is five-fold:
- Enhance childhood

The Stellenbosch Night Shelter project was started in 1989 to address the needs of the large number of homeless people in the greater Stellenbosch area. We provide compassionate and non-judgemental care to the poorest members of the Stellenbosch Community
Our emphasis is on basic needs, every resident receives 2 meals, a bed for the night, use of ablution facilities and access to social services through our social worker.
We also strive to help our residents to a safer and more settled way of life. To achieve this we try to reconcile individuals with their families, and help them to find employment/income and alternative accommodation. With the help of other organizations we also try to address substance abuse.
